Here's a short description for the Learning Community Electric Sheep and Plato: The Philosophy of Supernatural Literature:
What makes us distinctly human? What is truth? Why does evil exist? These are some of the timeless questions that humankind has struggled with for centuries. In Electric Sheep and Plato: The Philosophy of Supernatural Literature students have a chance to explore some of these classic philosophical issues through the prism of Supernatural and Science Fiction literature. The works of such writers, as Mary Shelley and Philip K. Dick will be examined in connection with the philosophical teachings of Plato and Socrates.
Here's the Winter LC schedule for BC South Campus; however of these, only three remain open for students:

Summer Term Learning Communities - South Campus
The summer 2011-3 schedule for Learning Communities is UP and open for registration! Check out the flyer:

You can also check out the courses and their notes on the class schedule.
Students who enroll in both LCs, and pass them, will complete their College Preparatory requirement and be ready for English Composition in the fall! That's a great incentive! You will be working with great instructors, and you'll have resources for success!
If you'd like more information on these Learning Communities, contact me (contact info is on the flyer) or your advisor.
