Theme/Description of Learning Community
Music Tells a Story: Enhancing student success through music, reading and writing.

Learning Outcomes
Students will have the opportunity to participate in four integrated assignments that will help to strengthen their:
  • understanding of what they read about music, musical instruments, composers and historic musical periods (REA0006C)
  • ability to write about musical styles, and express what they hear in written format (ENC0021)
  • time management skills when scheduling for concert attendances, developing critical, creative, and practical thinking, conduct research and produce short essays about music, and develop presentations about music, instruments and composers (SLS1001)
  • recognition of musical style, instruments, and appreciation of music (MUL2010)
